Charles L. Wright of Newark N.J. was born to the late Hilliard & Dorothy Wright, March 8, 1950. In Enfield North Carolina where he attended Inbordin School and he also was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church growing up.
Charles began his new journey in the 60s where he migrated to Newark, NJ, where he gained gainful employment at Best foods as a meat packer. Later on, change career to become a truck driver that took him near and far through the tri-state area. After becoming proud father, he later obtained employment the Radale Leather in port Newark, to be home with his family. After going into retirement, he found himself not able to sit still, seeking employment with Chuck’s Tavern in Newark and later on Price’s Lounge on Avon Avenue in Newark NJ; where he cooked his famous chopped BBQ that everybody loved. Even though he made good money from this, cooking was his hobby along with dancing, singing, and joking.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughter: Shahrunda Williams-Spencer; his son Charles Wright Jr., grandchildren: Rahmond Ausom and Rodney White, Great Grandchildren: Isaiah Ausom and Lamar White; Lifelong Love Jannie Williams; 2 sisters: Dorothy P. Bryant and Louella Wright.
Charles was predeceased by parents Hilliard (Boy) Wright and Dorothy Wright; sisters Edna Earl Wright, Ethalbell Pittman Duke and Annebell Arrington; brothers Hilliard Wright Jr. (Preacher), Marvin (Candy) Wright and Moses (Sondo) Wright; and friend Doretha Engleman.
In addition, he leaves a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, family, and friends.
