Abdullah George Holmes was born February 17, 1985 in Newark, NJ to George Holmes and Barbara Ann (Kareemah) Blackman; educated in the Newark school system at Harriet Tubman, Shakona Glory private elementary and graduated from East Side High.
As a teenager he worked with his father and uncle at H&H Distribution helping to build the family business and currently employed by MPT Rentals in construction.
Abdullah’s love of fitted’s, The Giants, music, sneakers, watching the Animal Planet, laughter; his humility, protective heart, awesome care of his children and the fact he was a momma’s boy is what defined him.
Family called him Wookie, friends Jazz, his children Dad and fiance Babe; whatever name you knew him as the one thing that remain the same was the lasting love he left in your heart!
Abdullah leaves to cherish his memory parents George and Barbara Ann, six children Abrianna Ballard, Abdul Amauri Holmes, Jevon Johnson, Aubrii Jazmira Holmes, Zariah Jones, Zahkee Jones and a fiance Nigeerah Mitchell; three brothers Kashif Myhand of Birmingham, AL, Clifford (CJ) Holmes of East Orange, NJ and Marquise Lanear’ Foster of Somerville, NJ; six sisters Sharonda Parker of Charlotte, NC, Shaniquah Ballard of Asheboro, NC, his ride or die Sabriyyah Vernell Holmes of Newark, NJ, Sakeenah S. Blackman of Newark, NJ and Jessie Latrice Holmes of Newark, NJ; three aunts Belinda Satchell of Newark, NJ, Vernell Scovil (Dwayne Scovil) of Somerset, NJ, Pastor Tiffany Morrast (Lorenzo Morrast) of Plainfield, NJ; two uncles Terrance Worthy of Newark, NJ and Anthony Howard; three great aunts Mary Eva Hudson of Piscataway, NJ, Doris Powell of Newark, NJ and Gerry Dotson of East Orange, NJ.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather’s Robert James Blackman and George Worthy; grandmothers Pastor Jessie T. Sales and Inez Blackman; two uncles Robert James Blackman Jr. and Phillip Tyrone Holmes; an aunt Vickie Renee Holmes and a great uncle John Dotson.
Jazz will never be forgotten, we will always keep him in our hearts remembering his words F.O.E Family Over Everything!
